This weekend marks the start of Fort Hays State University’s second annual Entrepreneurship Challenge. The event is open to all students at FHSU and provides the opportunity to transform ideas for products, services, and apps into a presentable concept or prototype.
The event kickoff takes place this Saturday, February 20th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Trails Room, located in the Memorial Union on the Fort Hays campus.
The FHSU Entrepreneurship Challenge will take place in four different phases, and throughout each phase students will be provided with expert guidance, help and advice, as well as many chances to win valuable prizes that will help with their start-up!
Phase one, starting Saturday, will consist of helping students test, survey, and refine their products. This day is ideal for learning what customers are looking for in a product or service. A workshop will also be available for developers on this day.
Phase two, which will begin February 27th, will focus on fixing issues along with service, product, and app promotion. Advice will be available to help with social media marketing and video production.
Phase three, starting March 21st, aims to make sure students are on the right track to making money by developing financial forecasts and work on how to present and deliver their projects in a way that shows off the value of their company.
Phase four, otherwise known as Demo Day, will be held on April 1st. This day will be filled with the final presentations, feedback from judges, and the award ceremony.
This event is available to students from all different majors and gives them the opportunity to turn their innovative ideas of products, services, and apps into a reality.
