FHSU Sports Information Department
Fort Hays State Women’s Basketball took over the No. 1 ranking in the latest NCAA Division II Media Poll, released on December 15. The media poll, only in its second year of existence, is sponsored by D2SIDA. FHSU is now No. 1 in both the WBCA Poll (which has served as the official national poll for years) and the D2SIDA Media Poll.
Fort Hays State overtook Limestone (S.C.) in the media poll this week. Neither team lost last week, but Fort Hays State jumped Limestone with four more voting points this week. There is a vast difference of where Limestone is located in the WBCA Poll compared to the D2SIDA Media Poll. Limestone is ranked No. 8 in the WBCA Poll. The national media poll has 16 voters – 2 from each region – which is released each Tuesday.
