ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Fort Hays State played to a scoreless draw in a conference match with Lindenwood on Saturday (Oct. 10). It was the first tie of the season for the FHSU men, now at 8-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the MIAA. Lindenwood moved to 6-3-2 overall and also 2-1-1 in the MIAA.
Both teams generated an adequate amount of offense, Lindenwood with 17 shots and Fort Hays State with 11. However, the goalkeepers did not have to sweat too much as the teams combined for just four shots on goal. Andrew Hamerlinck of Lindenwood recorded three saves and Michael Yantz of FHSU had just one. Yantz moved to 8-3-1 on the season in goal. Hamerlinck went to 6-2-1. Mauricio Castorino recorded the most shots of any Tiger with four.
The Tigers take a break from action until October 22 when they host Oklahoma Baptist in a non-conference match. The match is set for 6 pm.
