Fort Hays State plays just its second and third home contests of the season tonight and Saturday (Oct. 10), hosting Emporia State and 12th-ranked Washburn. The Tigers face the Hornets at 6 pm on Friday and then the Ichabods at 2 pm on Saturday.
Fort Hays State (10-8 overall, 2-4 MIAA) looks to match Emporia State (8-7, 3-3 MIAA) in the conference standings on Friday night. The Tigers fell at Emporia State a couple of weeks ago by a score of 3-0. FHSU looks to snap a six-match losing streak to ESU.
Washburn (17-1, 5-1 MIAA) has won four consecutive matches entering the weekend, all in straight sets, since suffering its only loss of the season to Fort Hays State. The Tigers knocked off a then No. 7 ranked Ichabod team two weeks ago in Topeka. It was the second-highest ranked team FHSU ever defeated in program history. Washburn plays at No. 16 ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Friday evening before heading to Hays Saturday.
If you can’t be at Gross Memorial, live stats and video will be available for the matches throughout the weekend.
