The 14th-ranked Fort Hays State men’s soccer team is on the road in Colorado for a pair of matches this weekend (Sept. 11 and 13). The Tigers are off to a 2-0 start for the season after neutral site wins over Missouri S&T and Truman last week.
The Tigers start their two-game swing at UC-Colorado Springs. UCCS comes into the match 0-1 after a season-opening loss to Eastern New Mexico. The match is set for 8:30 pm Central Time.
Fort Hays State will have a top-25 showdown on Sunday at CSU-Pueblo. The Thunderwolves are ranked No. 12 in the nation. CSU-Pueblo has two ranked opponents to play this week, which includes FHSU and Northeastern State. The Thunderwolves take on the RiverHawks on Friday night before tangling with the Tigers on Sunday.
Maurizio Costa had a great start to the season last weekend by scoring three of Fort Hays State’s five goals. He added an assist to finish with seven points for the week. Mauricio Castorino and David Lucio also chipped in goals for the Tigers.
