Wolf led the javelin after the first round of attempts by the 18 athletes competing in the event. Her throw of 153-feet, 6-inches held the lead all the way until the sixth and final throw, when Lopez threw 159-feet, 5-inches to take over the top spot. It was the third straight win for Lopez, who won the Alex Francis Classic and State Farm ESU Relays as well with automatic qualifying marks. Honas was third with a throw of 140-feet, 8-inches, reaching the distance on her third attempt. Fort Hays State’s top three did not improve on their national qualifying marks posted earlier in the season as Lopez continues to lead the nation, Wolf is third, and Honas is 12th. Both Lopez and Wolf have automatic qualifying marks.

Courtney Hageman had her best effort of the season in the pole vault with a height of 11-feet, 5.75-inches. She finished 13th in the event, coming up a little shy of the provisional qualifying standard.
