Women’s Basketball has all four All-MIAA Selections; Earn MIAA Scholar Athlete Honors

Fort Hays State impressively had all four of its All-MIAA selections earn the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award, released on Thursday. To earn Scholar-Athlete honors, athletes must earn All-MIAA status in their respective sport and carry a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Kate Lehman, Beth Bohuslavsky, Keriann Shaw, and Jill Faxon not only did a tremendous job on the floor for the Tigers, but they all excelled in the classroom.

Lehman was named the MIAA Player of the Year and MIAA Defensive Player of the Year. She earned the special defensive honor and All-MIAA First Team honors for the third straight year, while carrying a 3.83 GPA as an Elementary Education major. Bohuslavsky was a third-team selection this year and earns this honor for the second straight year after receiving honorable mention all-conference honors last year. She holds a 3.87 GPA in Elementary Education.

Shaw and Faxon each earned honorable mention all-conference selections this year and Shaw was also named to the MIAA All-Defensive Team with Lehman. Shaw holds a perfect 4.0 record, majoring in Biology, while Faxon owns a 3.56 GPA as a Health and Human Performance major.

Fort Hays State had more MIAA Scholar-Athlete recipients in basketball than any other school in the MIAA, men’s and women’s combined.
