The internationally recognized a cappella group, “Rockapella,” will perform as a part of the Encore Series on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the Fort Hays State University.
The five man vocal powerhouse will perform its holiday show, which the group has performed annually on tours that began in 2004. The Wednesday night performance will feature a unique twist on classic holiday tunes. The performance will feature songs such as, “Jingle Bell Rock” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem.”
Rockapella was born out of a love for performance on a street corner in New York City, where the group was discovered. The group served as the house band for the popular PBS Kids game show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego,” and also appeared on Jay Leno’s first New Year’s Eve episode of The Tonight Show. Since “Where in the World” ended in 1997 the group recorded several TV commercials and began touring annually in 2004.
