Fort Hays State Women’s Soccer was recognized as one of the top academic programs nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), earning the Team Academic Award for 2013-14.
FHSU, under the direction of head coach Craig Shaw, put together a combined GPA of 3.12 for the 2013-14 school year, and was one of 861 collegiate soccer teams (582 women) to receive the award – handed out to teams that post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This is the first ever NSCAA Team Academic Award for the Tigers, with the team just finishing its fourth season of existence.
The NSCAA Team Academic Award runs one school year behind, with the 2014-15 awards being announced next November.
