Due to inclement weather during the annual Oktoberfest celebration today, student organizations have been given the opportunity to continue merchandise sales prior to the FHSU football against Missouri Western beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday.
“Rain and mud hurt business for many organizations for which Oktoberfest sales are an important source of funding,” according to an email from FHSU University Relations.
While the merchandise sales will be allowed to continue, other staples of the annual celebration will not be permitted during the tailgate.
“Tables will be set up outside of the stadium on the northwest side prior to the game, and organizations can sell their merchandise from those tables. Sales are limited to the merchandise that was approved by the Oktoberfest committee, and only merchandise is allowed, no food items or beer,” the email said.
Organizations that plan to take advantage of this opportunity should notify Jacob Ternes, coordinator of student involvement and Greek life, to ensure enough tables are available.
Questions can be directed to Ternes at jaternes@fhsu.edu or during normal business hours at 785-628-4664.
