FHSU Shooting Team fares well at weekend event

The Fort Hays State University shooting team swept the Prairie Circuit Classic Invitational this past weekend in North Platte, Nebraska.

The event was held for all Collegiate Shooting Teams and hosted five states including Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming.

American and Double Skeet, American Trap and Double Trap and the 50 target 5-stand events equaled 450 targets total.

“We shot three out of the five events extremely well,” said Damian Giles, assistant coach. “Even though we did not do outstanding on the trap and double trap, they still performed competitively.

The freshmen seem to be progressing extremely fast as they are contributing to the overall performance of the team.”

The FHSU Squads placed 1st and 2nd overall with Midland University finishing 3rd, while on the individual side FHSU individuals finished 1st and 2nd in male standings.
