Breinig is a student at Fort Hays State while Rodger is a student at Fort Hays Tech North Central.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div and punk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cPlaying in Hays is special to me because this place has a lot of very talented people, musically,\u201d Veatch said. \u201cSo it feels rewarding to be up there with some folk close to me that inspired me.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other members of the band shared the same sentiment, saying they play for the community, not for themselves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe name \u2018The Side Projects\u2019 is because it originally was something we wanted to do on the side, but since people liked what we play, we play music not just for ourselves, but for the audience,\u201d Clark said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this most recent show at the Horseshoe, they achieved a milestone by performing their first gig longer than an hour, successfully reaching their goal of a two-hour performance.
