The event featured 104 vendors who promoted and sold homemade items from across the state.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper-container\"><ul class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_swiper-wrapper swiper-wrapper\"><li class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_slide cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe help cancer patients for costs that insurance doesn&#8217;t cover like gas and appointments,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re able to apply for financial assistance up to $1,000 a year. We\u2019ve helped eight patients this year, and paid out almost $7,000 for people, and all of the booth rental fees go directly to our general fund.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She accepted her leadership role after attending the fair as a vendor and having a personal connection to the struggles of cancer patients.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI went to this fair to sell my own crafts and I was approached by the group asking if I wanted to join,\u201d Armstrong said. \u201cIt does hit my heartstrings. My grandmother passed away from leukemia, so that\u2019s why I do this. I do it to give back to the people that are fighting the fight like she fought.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tracy Harris, one of the vendors, also has a personal connection based on her mission to sell items for her friend Jessica Carroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s a nurse I used to work with,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen she was 30, she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, and every fall, I\u2019ve done a cocoa bomb fundraiser to keep her name out there and people praying for her. So, when I found out it was for Your Voice In Cancer, I very much [felt gratitude].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donations can be made to Venmo or PayPal at Originals Designs by Jessica Carroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s been sick but she\u2019s doing okay,\u201d Harris said. \u201cShe\u2019s hanging in there, and she\u2019s a fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordan Zimmerman participated while selling 3D-printed items based on various pop culture icons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt feels good knowing that it\u2019s going to a good cause,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t have a personal connection, but I know people who have experienced or are experiencing cancer.
