Sip N\u2019 Spin Bar & Grill will host its 30th-anniversary party next Saturday at the long-time sports bar. The event will feature live music from the cover bands Kindred at 9 p.m. and Paramount at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eric Schuette, owner of Sip N\u2019 Spin, organized the event to commemorate the bar\u2019s 30th year of service in Hays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe first band, Kindred, their lead singer used to work for me years ago,\u201d he said. \u201cThey play a lot of cover tunes of 90\u2019s rock. Think Alice In Chains and Stone Temple Pilots, those kinds of things. Then Paramount is going to play the rest of the night; they play cover tunes of older rock like AC\/DC, Motley Crue, that era of rock and roll.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to celebrating the anniversary, the event will feature giveaway prizes and a raffle to raise money for Alzheimer\u2019s research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got donations from Coors and Budweiser,\u201d Schuette said. \u201cI got a couple of light-up signs from Budweiser. Coors gave us a Yuengling barbecue grill and some stuff like that. All the raffle money is going towards Alzheimer\u2019s research. We partner with them every year on a bunch of events to raise some money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Schuette, celebrating the 30th year of serving customers at his bar is a feat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been here for 29 of those years,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s over half of my life, so it\u2019s an accomplishment, and it makes me feel proud. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing a lot of people. The best part of this business is I get to meet a lot of people. So, I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing old faces and friends again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
