EMPORIA, Kan. – Two more student-athletes from the Fort Hays State men’s and women’s track and field teams lifted All-American trophies Saturday (May 25) on the final day of the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. For the week, the Tigers earned three All-America trophies in addition to one second-team All-America honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacob Clark<\/a><\/dfn> secured his fourth-career All-America trophy via an eighth-place finish in the pole vault. The junior surpassed the bar at 16-8.75 on his first attempt after clearing the bar at 16-2.75 on his second trip down the runway. This is the Nottingham, England native’s first podium appearance at the outdoor national meet to go along with his three indoor trophies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor Savolt<\/a><\/dfn> earned All-America honors in the 400m hurdles for a second year in a row, again placing eighth with a time of 1:04.36. The senior finishes her career with three All-America honors, including two first-team trophies and one second-team recognition. Her time of 59.15 in the prelims goes down as second-best at FHSU during the DII era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competing at the national meet for the fourth time in their career, Addie Berens<\/a><\/dfn> and Rhyann Brown<\/a><\/dfn> finished 20th and 21st in the javelin throw, respectively. Berens opened the day with a top toss of 130-1 on her first attempt, while Brown recorded a top mark of 119-7 on her second attempt. Berens finishes her career as a three-time All-American, while Brown wraps up her time as a Tiger ranked fifth at FHSU during the DII era with a career-best heave of 159-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tiger men finished the week with 1.5 team points, while the women compiled one team point on the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
