The Savage Storm took all matches contested on the day, moving to 14-4 overall on the season. FHSU moved to 6-9 overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No. 1 team of&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/77333156-df76-4174-9f28-62e981086a96?elinkdata=230877\">Shreethika Vangala<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/bdcc4d9f-70a6-4106-b6b7-58c750f12c1c?elinkdata=230877\">Fiorella Mendez<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had the closest doubles contest, falling 6-2. The No. 2 team of&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/ed8cd02b-8d70-47a9-a5ee-9f9979a8d53c?elinkdata=230877\">Irina Alfonso<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/7bb37694-75e9-40ed-951b-8d098e3c4c75?elinkdata=230877\">Ines Latorre<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;lost 6-1, and the No. 3 team of&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/76ee4f0b-2bc5-485e-a378-69644082d822?elinkdata=230877\">Yone Pereiro<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/9a0ed7a8-a856-4d63-9bc1-1979e7ec6dc5?elinkdata=230877\">Grace Unruh<\/a><\/dfn>lost 6-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alfonso (No. 2) had the tightest singles match, falling in heartbreaking fashion 11-9 in a third-set tiebreak. She won the first set 6-3 before dropping the second 6-0. Her opponent Georgia Hosking squeaked by with the two-point win in the tiebreak. Pereiro (No. 3) won five games in her match, losing 6-2, 6-3. Vangala (No. 1) took four games off her opponent, losing 6-2 in each set. Mendez (No. 5) and Unruh (No. 6) each nabbed three games and Latorre (No. 4) took one game in her singles match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers will be back at home next week for a conference match with Missouri Western on Friday, April 12, which is set to start at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHLEQUAH, Okla. &#8211; Fort Hays State fell by a score of 6-1 in conference play for the second-straight day on the road, this time at Northeastern State on Saturday (April 6). Northeastern State moved to 6-4 overall, 1-1 in the MIAA, while FHSU moved to 6-8 overall, 0-4 in the MIAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/63e6e54d-b0e6-46e4-a218-bdd6553be81c?elinkdata=230817\">Shreethika Vangala<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;was the only Tiger to win a match on the day, taking the No. 1 singles matchup. After falling in the first set 6-1, Vangala rallied for a 6-3 second set win and completed the comeback with a 10-7 win in the tiebreaker set over Alisha Moldakhmetova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/f774fb07-59fd-4171-a836-818d24a2fc02?elinkdata=230817\">Irina Alfonso<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;nearly gave the Tigers another singles win at the No. 2 position, but fell in a decisive tiebreaking set. She took the first set 6-4 before falling in the second set by the same count. Unfortunately, they came up short in a win-by-two scenario, 7-6 (9-7). The No. 1 team of Vangala and Mendez fell 6-3 and the No. 3 team of Pereiro and Unruh fell 6-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDMOND, Okla. &#8211; Fort Hays State Tennis fell by a score of 6-1 at Central Oklahoma on Friday evening (April 5). The Bronchos moved to 5-5 overall on the season and 1-1 in the MIAA, while FHSU moved to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in the MIAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bronchos swept all three doubles matches contested, yielding only two points. UCO won the No. 1 contest 6-0 and won the No. 2 and No. 3 matches 6-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/098667a3-560a-4285-8c63-1f675d251af5?elinkdata=230787\">Grace Unruh<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;was the only Tiger to record a win, taking the No. 6 singles match 6-4, 7-5.
