On Tuesday, members of the Fort Hays State University community gathered to celebrate plans for a newly renovated Forsyth Library, due to be completed in May 2026. At the groundbreaking ceremony, FHSU Foundation President and CEO Jason Williby, FHSU President Tisa Mason, Dean of Library Services Ginger Williams, and Sen. Jerry Moran spoke about their excitement for the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is a remarkable place to be at Fort Hays State University,\u201d Mason said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The library renovation will create a place for students to thrive and open doors to new opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moran spoke about these opportunities describing how as a young kid in Plainville, he frequently visited the Forsyth library. This started his love and fan hood of libraries. Moran was instrumental in securing funds for the $27.7 million dollar renovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI look forward to students today and in the future to have these opportunities,\u201d Moran said. \u201cWe want this to be one of the best (libraries) and connect people to the rest of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
