The Tigers (18-11, 6-9 MIAA) and the No. 2 Mules (25-4, 13-2 MIAA) faced off in what started out as a fast-paced high scoring game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Hays State was able to strike first after the lead off hitter,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/f0d3a916-759b-4cf2-8ebd-b649e6290ab9?elinkdata=229707\">Cesar Saavedra<\/a><\/dfn>, doubled to start the game. He later advanced on a wild pitch and then scored on an&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/0b44af14-cb22-4bd3-8cf3-ed87448ca72d?elinkdata=229707\">Isaiah Ural<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;ground out. The Mules scored one of their own on a hit and an error, leaving one base runner on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mules notched another one in the third before the Tigers took the lead back in the top of the fifth. The Tigers scored one after a&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/cb4f79ed-14cf-417e-b033-dc957d4583e2?elinkdata=229707\">Jamison Armstrong<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;single,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/67fca910-3dd8-45ca-8c81-71f7130ee604?elinkdata=229707\">Sebastian Burgos<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;walk and then a Saavedra single up the middle. Brady Kreautzer pulled out the squeeze with Burgos on third and was able to pull it off to take a 3-2 lead. The Mules took the lead right back in the bottom half after a two RBI double. The Mules scored two more on two hits the next inning, taking a 6-3 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers couldn&#8217;t score till an Armstrong single scored Kyle Morell, who tripled earlier in the inning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tiger starter&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/61388a05-2c86-4fcc-8b3a-9015b0247724?elinkdata=229707\">Cade Flaherty<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;faced 18 batters giving up five hits and four runs (two earned) while striking out a pair.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/f098cdbc-fb6e-4ea3-90cb-b4d5a646f46c?elinkdata=229707\">Tanner Vaughn<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;relieved him after four innings pitched, going two for himself.
