TOPEKA, Kan. – The Tiger track and field team racked up three provisional performances and took home a first-place finish at the Washburn Rust Buster Saturday (Jan. 20). The team placed fifth out of 22 schools attending, finishing with a team score of 52.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor Savolt<\/a><\/dfn> won the long jump for jumping 18-4.25 feet and almost hit the provisional mark by inches. The senior continued her impressive performance, securing the seventh position in the women’s 60m hurdles with a time of 9.08 and had a stellar performance in the 600y run, securing the third position with a time of 1:29.46.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant Bradley<\/a><\/dfn> was responsible for one of the three provisional performances on the day, doing so in the 3k and placing second overall. The only men’s high jumper, Dayton Williams<\/a><\/dfn>, had himself a day for tying his personal best of 6-11.5 feet and finished second in the event. Pole vaulter, Annabeth Baalman, vaulted her best mark of 12-1.5 feet and finished top five while also accomplishing a provisional mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men’s 1 mile saw Trevor Medina’s remarkable endurance, securing the third position with an impressive time of 4:14.00. In the 600y, Nathaniel Hubbard<\/a><\/dfn> showcased precision and speed, earning the fifth position with a time of 1:14.72. Hayden Albright<\/a><\/dfn>showed impressive speed in the 60m, securing the 13th position with a swift time of 7.00, closely followed by Avrey Albright<\/a><\/dfn> at 14th with a time of 7.01.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Lang<\/a><\/dfn> demonstrated endurance in the men’s 800m, earning the second position with a time of 1:52.80. Kaden Wren<\/a><\/dfn>, Aaron Mangan<\/a><\/dfn>, and Isaac Radke<\/a><\/dfn>finished seventh, 11th, and 32nd with times of 1:56.37, 1:57.07, and 2:01.24, respectively. Hayden Albright<\/a><\/dfn>continued to impress in the men’s 200m, securing second place with a time of 21.84, Nolan Churchman<\/a><\/dfn>followed close behind to grab the sixth spot past the finish line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women’s 3000 meter, Jaycee Vath<\/a><\/dfn> showcased her endurance, securing second place with a time of 10:17.60. Darian Hudgeons<\/a><\/dfn> and Abbye Hudson<\/a><\/dfn>displayed their stamina, finishing 17th and 29th with times of 10:44.78 and 11:07.63, respectively. Jayme Hagerman<\/a><\/dfn> showcased her skill in the women’s triple jump, securing the third position with a mark of 36-5.75. Reba Mader<\/a><\/dfn> exhibited strength and speed in the women’s 400m, securing eighth position with a time of 58.81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers are next scheduled to compete on Friday (Jan. 26) when they travel to Kearney, Neb. to compete in the Charlie Foster Classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
