The Tigers scored 30 points in the first quarter on their way to a convincing final of 71-3. The Tigers are now 3-2 overall, while Lincoln fell to 0-5. It marked the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0straight win for FHSU over LU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tone for a big opening quarter was set when Lincoln threw an interception on the first play from scrimmage, returned 29 yards by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/2a73481a-d10d-4a76-83b8-128160b8f97a?elinkdata=215376\">Jaxon Kolzow<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;to set up a 31-yard field for the Tigers. They scored their first touchdown four plays later on a two-yard run by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/b322db3c-6ca0-4060-908f-c6b775a1e922?elinkdata=215376\">Shane Watts<\/a><\/dfn>. The Tigers then forced a 3-and-out on the next Lincoln drive and then three plays later,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/dc0a9338-c714-4340-a912-0e902276bcd6?elinkdata=215376\">Jack Dawson<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;found&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/2aa63d1e-7e6b-4623-9bbf-f6a426ef8fbb?elinkdata=215376\">Jayden Horace<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;for a 39-yard touchdown pass. The Tigers led 14-0 just over five minutes into the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the first quarter,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/e41f761f-fa96-414b-a285-2bbd7b6f5e11?elinkdata=215376\">Travis Dixon<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass from Dawson. Lincoln went 3-and-out again, and then had their punt blocked that went out of the back of the endzone for a safety. Just before the end of the quarter, Horace hauled in another touchdown pass from Dawson, this time from 30 yards to make it 30-0 in favor of FHSU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers added on 17 points in the second quarter to hold a 47-0 halftime lead.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/061159de-686e-45c3-8d2d-13e0ed344aea?elinkdata=215376\">Ja&#8217;Quan Tillis<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;joined the touchdown party with a two-yard run, then Dawson had a 28-yard scamper to the endzone on a keeper.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/86646d41-4a18-4a86-971d-3b2a28306419?elinkdata=215376\">Carson Arndt<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;added a 27-yard field goal as the first half expired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/bc556536-87b9-449c-af75-490aacc6736d?elinkdata=215376\">Caleb Heavner<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;gave the Tigers another quarterback rushing touchdown early in the third quarter with a 67-yard sprint up the right sideline. Moments later, the Blue Tigers coughed up the ball on the kick return, caused by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/1cede175-7502-4f56-88ad-d0f52aad3dc3?elinkdata=215376\">Logan Heigele<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and picked up by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/3e383947-623e-4d55-845b-c6b834bf14cd?elinkdata=215376\">Michael Polley<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;for a 22-yard scoop and score. Heigele found the ball once more later in the quarter when Heavner connected with him for a 61-yard touchdown pass. FHSU led 68-0 going to the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teams traded field goals in the final frame. Lincoln picked up its only points of the game on a 30-yard field goal by Mo Alwaely.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/2d256142-bac7-4860-adf6-6872b4b03aaf?elinkdata=215376\">Carson Arndt<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;added his second field goal of the game from 29 yards with 4:04 remaining making the eventual final of 71-3. It was the second straight home game the Tigers scored over 70 against Lincoln after a 72-0 win back in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tigers finished with 582 yards of total offense, a new season high, to just 141 by Lincoln. Dawson finished with 252 yards passing, completing 14-of-18 attempts with a hand in four touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing).&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/ceb9c14c-3bc9-4c7a-ab4b-2efb3e135309?elinkdata=215376\">Jayden Horace<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;was the top receiver by yards with 91 to go with his two trips to the endzone. Heavner was a perfect 3-of-3 passing for 94 yards, having a hand in two touchdowns (1 passing, 1 rushing). He also led the team in rushing with 68 yards on two attempts. The Tigers gained 346 yards through the air and a season-high 236 on the ground.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/aaaaba11-ed08-4bc6-9566-55a0673eef6e?elinkdata=215376\">Kaleb Pillow<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;led the Tigers in tackles with seven, while&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/572e8217-e1d8-4b8b-9bad-7d9806c56e24?elinkdata=215376\">Parrish Terry<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had three tackles for loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Hays State returns to MIAA play next week on the road at Missouri Southern.
