The FHSU Esports club will be hosting the TigerLan event on Saturday. The event is a large gathering where people can bring their own consoles and play various video games. There will also be professional tournaments taking place, including Minecraft Hardcore and Smash Bros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt provides a fun activity on campus and for the community,\u201d Esports supervisor Kevin Shaffer said. \u201cIt also allows people to meet others who play the same games they play.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the previous TigerLan events in mind, Shaffer has high hopes for the amount of people who will attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere will be 50-100 people there,\u201d Schaffer said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
TigerLAN is something of a tradition for the Esports club, going as far back as 2000. Esports president Ben White expresses pride in how far it has come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt represents the culmination of Esports as a whole,\u201d White said. \u201cYou have everybody coming together to make something everyone can enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TigerLAN will take place in the ballroom in the Memorial Union with doors opening at 11:00 a.m. For a $5 entrance fee, students and community members can enjoy a night of gaming and have a chance to earn a prize in various tournaments. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
