Fort Hays State campus Intramural and Recreational sports offer more than 300 programs throughout the year for students interested in all kinds of activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe’ve got something for everybody, we are here for everybody,\u201d said Ron Haag, director of campus intramural and recreational sports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Garrett Folks a Fort Hays State student said he recommends intramurals to anyone who is looking for a way to meet people, or for people to just have fun in any sport they can think of.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This month alone there is a golf simulation league, flag football, sand volleyball, and soccer events. Campus Recreation doesn\u2019t just offer sports but also offers some non-sporting events such as Lego building, a chili cookoff, board games, and painting classes.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou name it we are probably doing it,\u201d Haag said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Campus intramural and recreational sports are looking for more student employees to set up and run events.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou do not have to be a great official to run all these activities,\u201d Haag said.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For those interested in officiating, recreational sports offer an officiating program, where you can work as an official and referee games across the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Haag said that reffing is a good way to get into sports.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWalk onto a wrestling match on a stage six feet high and thousands of people are watching you and ESPN cameras roll it’s just as intense is playing or coaching,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
