Thousands of samples of different varieties of barbed wire are available to be viewed for free, paired with an optional tour that teaches its history.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacrosselivestock.com\/\">Livestock Market<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to watch cattle or simply listen to the auctioneers for a few hours, the La Crosse Livestock Market is the main stop for most ranchers for about a hundred miles. The sales take place on set Fridays; a complete schedule can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacrosselivestock.com\/sales-schedule\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restaurants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>JCT4 Diner<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Small towns, especially ones that are mostly driven past, tend to hold the best old-timey diners, and JCT4 is one of these treasures.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My choice: the basket of fried pickles\u2014they\u2019re spears, not slices!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taco Grande<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Crosse, unfortunately, lacks Hays\u2019s range of Mexican restaurants, so it\u2019s good that Taco Grande is still a tasty option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stores<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A Second Chance<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thrift stores in small towns have some of the best selections.
