ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Fort Hays State track and field teams added five All-Americans and broke one school record on the final day of competition at the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on Saturday (May 28). The Tigers finished the week with five first team All-Americans, six second team All-Americans and two school records.

The Tigers finished with 14 points on the women’s side and five from the men’s team, placing 18th in the women’s standings and 39th in the men’s rankings.

Mattie Rossi<\/a> wrapped up her busy week with a pair of All-America honors, one first team and one second team. The junior finished as the national runner-up in the 400m hurdles, breaking her own school record with a time of 58.11 to finish second and contribute eight team points for FHSU. The time ranks 24th all-time in Division II. Earlier in the day Rossi finished ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.14 to grab second team All-American status. Rossi also earned second team All-American accolades in the heptathlon earlier in the week, giving her six All-America honors all-time.

After picking up second team All-America status last season, Addie Berens<\/a> earned a spot on the podium in the javelin this year with a top heave of 153-4. The sophomore placed fourth, contributing five team points to the Tiger team score. This is the 40th Division II All-American honor for an FHSU javelin thrower, including 26 from the women’s team and 14 from the men’s squad.

Lyric Holman<\/a> sprinted her way onto the All-American podium for the third time in her career after placing eighth in the 100m dash finals. The junior crossed the line in 11.96, grabbing her seventh All-America honor overall (three first team, four second team).

Alexandra Hart<\/a> finished 12th in the high jump after clearing the 5-7 bar to collect second team All-America honors for the second time this season (9th indoors). It is the sophomore’s fourth All-America award in as many tries including a pair of first team honors from last season (champion indoors, 7th outdoors).

Xavier Robinson<\/a> recorded a leap of 48-1.25 in the triple jump, finishing in 14th place in the country.

Robbie Schmidt<\/a> wrapped up an impressive career as a Tiger with a 15th-place in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:22.05. Earlier in the week the senior picked up second team All-America honors in the 10,000m run.

Rhyann Brown<\/a> placed 17th in the javelin at the national level for the second year in a row after a top mark of 136-7.

David Enns<\/a> wrapped up his career as a Tiger with a 19th-place finish in the javelin. The senior posted a top toss of 195-3 on his first attempt of the day.
