On display at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History since February 25th, In Search of Earth\u2019s Secrets <\/em>is an interactive, hands-on exhibit that teaches viewers about how Earth has changed over time. According to Museum Director Reese Barrick, the traveling exhibit tells the story of an international ocean drilling project.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a ship that has gone around for the last 50 years drilling cores,\u201d he said.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Cores\u2019 are simply samples of material that have been removed from the seafloor for examination. 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose cores have all the secrets of the earth\u2019s history,\u201d Barrick said. \u201cThis exhibit is basically a way of interacting to understand what scientists are learning about Earth\u2019s history from these cores.\u201d
