Fort Hays State University has been recognized for its investment\nin programs that improve the education experience of its military-connected\nstudent community, earning the 2022-23 Military Friendly\nSchool designation from militaryfriendly.com. FHSU earned \u201cSilver\u201d\nrecognition in this year\u2019s survey, a significant advancement over last year\u2019s\nsurvey placement on the 2021-22 list of 747 Military Friendly Schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Institutions earning the Military Friendly\u00ae Schools Awards\ndesignation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a\nproprietary survey. Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-23 survey, 665\nschools earned awards level designations in Gold, Silver, and Bronze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2022- 2023 Military Friendly\u00ae Schools list will be published in the\nMay issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at http:\/\/www.militaryfriendly.com\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory<\/a> with input from the Military Friendly\u00ae Advisory Council of\nindependent leaders in higher education. The Military Friendly\u00ae program creates\ncivilian opportunities for veterans and is the standard that measures an\norganization\u2019s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and\nmeaningful opportunities for the military community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Erica Fisher, director of FHSU\u2019s Transfer & Military Center, points\nto the expanded investment the university made in recent years to improving\ntransition and academic experiences for service members, veterans, and their\nfamilies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn 2020, FHSU strengthened our commitment to supporting\nmilitary-connected students and established the Transfer & Military\nCenter,\u201d Fisher said. \u201cSince then, we\u2019ve launched several initiatives aimed at\nimproving the college experience for our military student populations, such as\nincreasing military credit articulation and creating new scholarship\nopportunities. We are proud of this recognition and will continue our work to\nsupport our military-connected students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Military-connected students at FHSU have access to a variety of\nbenefits and resources to improve their student experience. These include\nunofficial transcript evaluations, transfer and military credit policies, and\nthe ability to utilize their military tuition benefits at an accredited\ninstitution.
