McClure, assistant professor of history \u2013 and published by The University of North Carolina Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McClure\u2019s\nbook follows the interaction between culture and economics during the\ntransition from Keynesianism in the mid-1960s to\u202fthe\u202ftriumph of\u202fneoliberalism\nat the dawn of the 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From\nthe 1965 debate between William F. Buckley and James Baldwin, through the\npages\u202fof BusinessWeek and Playboy, to the rise of exploitation cinema in the\n1970s, McClure tracks the increasingly shared perception by white males that\nthey had \u201clost\u201d their long-standing rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nCollege of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and the history department\nwill be holding a \u201cbook talk\u201d along with the book signing event from 2 to 3\np.m. Wednesday, March 2, in the Sunset Atrium of the Memorial Union.&nbsp; \n\nBooks will be available for purchase through the\nVictor E.
