How can students keep from stressing out during finals week?<\/p>\n
Maggie Denning, coordinator of academic success programs, hosts workshops each year on this very topic. Denning\u2019s workshops provide tips for students on how to keep from stressing about finals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest mistake students make when studying for finals is waiting until the last minute. It is best if students study everyday as if their test is tomorrow,\u201d Denning said.<\/p>\n
Denning said tests in college are not the same as high school. In college students have to be able to grasp the concept and understand it on a deeper level, unlike high school where the content may only touch the surface of a subject.<\/p>\n
Denning also had advice about where a student should study.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe best place for students to study for finals is the second floor of the library. It is very quiet and conducive for studying,\u201d Denning said. \u201cThe library has all the resources a student could need when it comes to studying.\u201d<\/p>\n
Denning suggested a few stress-relieving activities that could help students during finals week. \u201cStudents should exercise, take breaks, watch a sunrise or a sunset, just have some \u2018me\u2019 time.\u201d<\/p>\n
