Fort Hays State women’s basketball head coach Tony Hobson<\/a> has announced the signing of a pair of future Tigers that will join the squad in the fall of 2022. The incoming class of 2022 includes Brooke Loewe out of Ballard High School in Huxley, Iowa and Ellie Stearns from Andover Central High School in Andover, Kan.

Brooke Loewe<\/strong>
\n5-8 | Guard
\nHuxley, Iowa | Ballard HS

\nBrooke Loewe will be a four-year starter at Ballard High School in Huxley,\nIowa. She was an Iowa Class 4A first team All-State selection as a junior after\nhelping the Bombers win the 4A state championship. The 5-foot-8 guard was named\nto the 4A All-State Tournament team last spring during their run to the title.\nShe is a three-time first team all-conference selection and has earned Class 4A\nall-region honors as a freshman, sophomore and junior. Loewe has helped the\nBombers to three regional finals and two regional championships. She’s averaged\n10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.4 steals per game through her high\nschool career, totaling 755 points in 70 career games. Loewe also played soccer\nin her time at Ballard.

Why did you choose to\nattend Fort Hays State?<\/strong>
\n“I chose Fort Hays State because it was somewhere I could see myself for\nthe next four years. The people and culture everywhere on campus was something\nspecial, and I knew this was the school for me.”

Ellie Stearns<\/strong>

\nAndover, Kan. | Andover Central HS

\nEllie Stearns will go from one Kansas powerhouse to another after a strong\ncareer at Andover Central High School in Andover, Kan. Stearns earned numerous\nAll-State honors as a junior, including second team All-State Class 5A from Sports in Kansas<\/em>,\nhonorable mention All-State from the KBCA and an honorable mention All-State\nall classes nod from the Wichita\nEagle<\/em>. She helped the Jaguars to a runner-up finish in Class 5A as\na junior and to the state semifinals as a sophomore before the tournament was\ncanceled. Stearns is a two-time All-AVCTL Division II honoree, picking up\nsecond team honors as a sophomore and junior. Additional honors her junior year\ninclude a spot on the All-State Tournament team, All-VYPE Wichita Area\nhonorable mention status and first team all-county accolades. The 5-foot-8\nguard also picked up honorable mention All-State honors as a sophomore. She\naveraged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a\njunior. Stearns was also a standout performer on the volleyball court, playing\nall four years and picking up a trio of all-league honors, including two\nappearances on the first team, while racking up more than 1,300 career assists.
