Adding staff capacity will increase availability and timeliness of access for Northwest Kansas residents needing medication services. New telehealth providers are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Andrew Klise, M.D<\/strong>.,\nis a psychiatrist from rural Ohio who began his career as a researcher at\nNational Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins University. He earned a\nmaster\u2019s degree in biomedical science and then a Doctor of Medicine degree at\nUniversity of Toledo (Ohio) College of Medicine. He is passionate about\ntreating patients with severe mental illness, and completed his residency at\nthe largest community hospital in the nation, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr.\nKlise specializes in treating mood and anxiety disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nirupama Tamirisa, M.D., <\/strong>is\na child and adolescent psychiatrist and ABPN-certified adult psychiatrist. She\ncompleted her psychiatry training at St. Louis University, then graduated from\na fellowship program at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio.\nShe received all-around training dealing with various complexities of mental\nhealth disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karen Tonner, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC,<\/strong> is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner\nwho received her master\u2019s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.\nShe is experienced in treating a wide array of mental health disorders,\nincluding mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders,\nneurodevelopmental disorders, and trauma in patients of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Myrto Mia McNeil, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, <\/strong>is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Board-Certified Psychiatric\nNurse practitioner. She graduated summa cum laude from Rutger\u2019s University, and\nshe has a personal commitment to promoting optimal mental health for\nindividuals across their lifespan using an integrated holistic approach. She\nhas earned several awards for high levels of achievement in both academic and\nclinical studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kelsey Daugherty, DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC,<\/strong> holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of\nMissouri, Kansas City. She has experience working with children, adolescents,\nand young adults. The majority of her career has been spent in the outpatient setting\nworking as the sole prescriber in a large private practice alongside therapists\nof various specialties. She values having a close, collaborative relationship\nwith the clinicians and specialists with whom she shares clients to provide\ntruly integrated care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All five medical practitioners see\nHPMHC clients virtually via telehealth connection, which can be accessed in one\nof our clinic locations or, in some cases, via Zoom from the client\u2019s home. The\nproviders are employed by innovaTel telepsychiatry but work closely with\non-site HPMHC staff in caring for our clients. They join on-site medical\nproviders Medical Director Mark Romereim, M.D., and Joseph Mindrup, APRN,\nPMHNP-BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome these\nfive talented and caring professionals to join our team. Our new medical\nproviders were selected carefully to ensure a high-quality healthcare\nexperience and to help fill service gaps in our rural catchment area,\u201d said\nWalt Hill, executive director of HPMHC. \u201cThey bring valuable expertise and\nyears of experience to the table, which will enhance client care and improve\nregional access to telepsychiatry services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HPMHC serves 20 counties in\nNorthwest Kansas with six full-time clinics located in Hays, Colby, Goodland,\nNorton, Osborne and Phillipsburg, in addition to 16 part-time community\noutreach offices. A sliding fee scale is available for clients who do not have\ninsurance.
