{"id":59201,"date":"2021-03-30T09:16:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T14:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=59201"},"modified":"2021-03-30T09:16:09","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T14:16:09","slug":"fhsu-nck-tech-partner-to-make-transfer-process-easier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=59201","title":{"rendered":"FHSU, NCK Tech partner to make transfer process easier"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By UNIVERSITY RELATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Hays State University announced today that new curriculum guides developed in partnership with North Central Kansas Technical College are now in place to make the path to a four-year degree easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe\ncurriculum guides allow students to fully understand ahead of time which of\ntheir courses will transfer into our programs at FHSU,\u201d said Erica Fisher,\ndirector of FHSU\u2019s Transfer &amp; Military Center. \u201cBy increasing transferrable\ncourses, students complete their degrees faster and with a lower total cost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FHSU and\nNCK Tech \u2013 with campuses in Hays and Beloit \u2013 introduced new undergraduate\ncurriculum guides in Information Networking and Telecommunications and Business\nAdministration. Students who select the bachelor\u2019s in business administration\ndegree path can choose from six major options: accounting, finance,\ninternational business and economics, management, marketing, and management\ninformation systems. FHSU also updated curriculum guides for several undergraduate\nprograms that offer tremendous professional opportunities for graduates,\nincluding health studies, nursing, organizational leadership, and technology\nleadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese curriculum guides\nprovide a seamless transfer between NCK Tech and Fort Hays State University,\u201d\nsaid Corey Isbell, vice president of Student and Instructional Services at NCK\nTech. \u201cStudents in our business management, business technology, and IT\nprograms at NCK Tech can easily transition from an associate of applied science\nto a bachelor\u2019s degree, creating a more timely pathway to the workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only the Hays campus of NCK\nTech offers the business technology program, and only Beloit offers the IT\nprogram, while both campuses have the business management program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Hays\nState created the Transfer &amp; Military Center in the summer of 2020 to\ndeliver enhanced and more personalized services to support two growing\nnon-traditional college student populations. The center\u2019s extensive and ongoing\nwork in the area of curriculum guide development focuses on making the\ntransition to FHSU more seamless. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cClose to\nhalf of the students enrolled in higher education programs today are\nnon-traditional students, and serving their distinct need for flexibility,\naffordability, and a positive return on investment for every educational dollar\nspent drives the efforts of the Transfer &amp; Military Center at FHSU,\u201d said\nDr. Dennis King, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.\n\nFort Hays State University has articulation\nagreements with many schools around the region.
