As a nationally recognized institute for civic engagement, the Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) at Fort Hays State University provides co-curricular and educational programs to foster civic leadership skills in FHSU students. In support of the CCL\u2019s mission and broader university goals to align civic engagement activities, an inaugural advisory board has been formed to enhance efforts in addressing social needs in the surrounding community. Board members will serve as a conduit for information regarding community projects for potential collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FHSU is pleased to announce the 2021\nboard comprised of ten uniquely qualified members:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Aaron Cunningham, Assistant Ellis\nCounty Attorney<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Brian Gribben, FHSU Forsyth Library <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Jayne Inlow, HaysMed Foundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Sandy Jacobs, Mayor, Hays City\nCommission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Nikki Pfannenstiel, Sunflower Electric\nPower Corp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Brittney Squire, FHSU Forsyth Library\n(advisory board chair)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope that the creation of this board\nwill help strengthen our programming and increase our impact on the campus\ncommunity, the Hays community, and the region we serve as a state comprehensive\nuniversity,\u201d said Dr. Donnette Noble, Voss Distinguished Professor of\nLeadership Studies and the Director of Civic Learning and Engagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CCL features The American Democracy\nProject (ADP), which is focused on public higher education\u2019s role in preparing\nthe next generation of informed citizens, and Tigers In Service (TIS), which\nserves as a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities both on and off campus.\nOther activities hosted by the CCL include monthly essay contests and events\nwhich focus on social responsibility at the national and global levels. The CCL\nis a student-oriented and operated\ninstitute offering paid student employment positions, fellowship roles, and\nvolunteer opportunities.
