Thanks to nearly $275,000 in support from donors, 272 scholarships were awarded to Fort Hays State University business students for the 2020-2021 academic year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nawards were announced at today\u2019s W.R. and Yvonne Robbins College of Business\nand Entrepreneurship scholarship awards ceremony. The event is traditionally\nheld in FHSU\u2019s Memorial Union but took place in a virtual format this year due\nto the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual awards ceremony can be viewed at https:\/\/foundation.fhsu.edu\/rcobe-scholarship-reception<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\ncongratulatory video from FHSU President Dr. Tisa Mason kicked off the event.\nShe praised Robbins College students for their hard work, dedication and\nresilience that led them to receiving scholarship support. President Mason also\nprovided a thank you to FHSU philanthropists for fueling the dreams of Fort\nHays State University\u2019s students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr.\nMuhammad Chishty, dean of FHSU\u2019s Robbins College, presented a sincere thank you\nto donors in his congratulatory video as well. \u201cWithout your generosity, none\nof this would have been possible. Your support has benefitted us tremendously,\u201d\nDr. Chishty said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\nco-chair of the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship Scholarship\nCommittee, the annual awards ceremony is something that Cole Engel, associate\nprofessor of accounting, looks forward to every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cServing\nas Master of Ceremonies and recognizing a significant number of students\nachieving excellence is an incredible honor,\u201d Engel said. \u201cWhile I am sad we\ncould not celebrate the accomplishments of our students in person this year, I\nam so thankful our alumni and friends are supporting the scholarship program at\na distance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow\nmore than ever, the financial assistance and professional support provided by\nour partners allows our students to focus on academic success and career\npreparations as they enter their professions during what is likely the most\nchallenging time of their lives,\u201d Engel continued. \u201cMy warmest congratulations\ngo out to the students, who are proof that good things come to those who are\nwilling to sacrifice to reach a worthwhile goal. My most sincere gratitude\ngoes to the donors, who continue to pay it forward and make this program an\nunbelievable success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John\nEgan, one of two recipients of the annual Robbins Ambassador Scholarship, said\nthat \u201cnone of us would be here today without the generous support of our\nwonderful donors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese\nindividuals have given bountifully to the university to help us flourish in our\nstudies,\u201d said Egan, a senior finance major from Wichita. \u201cWe are tremendously\ngrateful for the generosity of our donors and their willingness to help us\nsucceed. Without their support, many of us would not be able to thrive inside\nand outside of the classroom. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n
