<\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\nAlpha Sigma Alpha took on The Humane Society of the High Plains as their philanthropy to help the animals who can\u2019t help themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe animals can\u2019t advocate for themselves,\u201d a member of ASA said. \u201cSomeone had to step up, so we decided to\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which is exactly what Alpha Sigma Alpha did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most students that walked by the small fundraising event didn\u2019t have a clue that Hays had an animal shelter, let alone how to help it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though donations are accepted and appreciated, there are other ways to help the shelter out. The Humane Society is open Tuesday through Sunday from 1-5 p.m. According to the Humane Society, they would love to have more volunteers and happy to welcome anyone willing to help with wide open arms. Volunteers can expect to take the dogs on walks, play with the cats, or complete seemingly minor tasks that actually hold the entire operation together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the help of Alpha Sigma Alpha members The Humane Society of the High Plains received good press, a few donations, and most importantly, some new volunteers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
