There is\nnothing like a new baby to put smiles on the faces of family and strangers\nalike. They are so darned cute. Their cherub faces immediately fill us with a\nmoment of joy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiger Nation is\nexcited to announce yet another partnership with Hays Medical Center (we have\nmany). Each beautiful baby delivered at HaysMed will now be sent home in the\nloving care of their parents with a Fort Hays State University onesie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program started\nthis summer after HaysMed CEO Eddie Herrman approached FHSU Foundation CEO\nJason Williby about the onesie idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt seemed like\na great way to give back to our community while building upon the strong ties of\npartnership between HaysMed and FHSU,\u201d Williby said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 100 babies\nhave been sent home with their FHSU \u201cBorn to be a Tiger\u201d onesie in the first\nmonth. The onesies are placed in a basket with a meal-to-go for Mom and Dad,\nanother fantastic gesture from the HaysMed staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParents love\nthe meal-to-go they receive on the day of discharge and have commented numerous\ntimes how great it is to go home and not have to worry about what\u2019s for\ndinner,\u201d said Kristy Schlaefli, director of Women Infant Care at HaysMed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nurses report\nthat parents are loving the newly added FHSU onesie. Second-time parents have\neven commented how much they like the onesie and that they would have loved one\nwhen their first baby was born. The nurses are especially enjoying the\nHaysMed-delivered babies sporting their Tiger gear on social media \u2013 and so are\nwe!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To our great delight, one such social media rock star is Drake Pilkington, son of FHSU softball coach Adrian Pilkington and her husband, Blake. Drake wore his FHSU onesie on his way home from the hospital \u2013 an extra special treat given that both Adrian and Blake graduated from FHSU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We were\nso excited to receive our FHSU onesie upon departure from HaysMed,\u201d Adrian\nsaid. \u201cBlake and I are both FHSU alumni so it was an awesome surprise and a\ngreat way to introduce our son, Drake, as the newest member to Tiger\nNation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe often refer\nto FHSU as a community \u2013 or a family. When a member of the family has a baby,\nyou send a baby gift,\u201d Williby said. \u201cIt is never too early to begin recruiting\nthe future freshman class of Tigers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love this\nprogram.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
