{"id":55292,"date":"2020-04-20T14:37:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-20T19:37:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=55292"},"modified":"2020-04-20T14:37:42","modified_gmt":"2020-04-20T19:37:42","slug":"%ef%bb%bfpaper-by-fhsus-dr-robb-scott-accepted-for-publication-in-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=55292","title":{"rendered":"\ufeffPaper by FHSU\u2019s Dr. Robb Scott accepted for publication in Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By UNIVERSITY RELATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A paper by Dr. Robb Scott, assistant professor of advanced education programs at Fort Hays State University, has been accepted for publication in a prestigious Japanese journal. <br> <br> \u201cMono No Aware: Revisiting the Magic Bonsai Tree\u201d will be published in the PanSIG Journal, the publication of the annual PanSIG Conference of the Japan Association for Language Teaching. <br> <br> \u201cThe idea at the core of my paper is a technique I developed as a young ESL teacher at SIUC Niigata, one of the first American branch campus programs in Japan, in 1988,\u201d said Scott. SIUC is Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. ESL is English as a Second Language. <br> <br> More than 30 years later, while studying the meaning of the Japanese phrase \u201cmono no aware\u201d (<em>moh-no-no-ah-wah-ray<\/em>), he found himself reflecting on his beautiful memory of that experience.
