ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – No. 22 Fort Hays State men’s soccer traveled to play Ouachita Baptist on Thursday night in a match that ended 2-2 at the conclusion of an overtime period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the gates, the Tigers registered the first three shots of the game.\nSenior forward Santiago\nAgudelo<\/a> struck the third shot and began the test of Ouachita\ngoalkeeper Matt Day, who pushed the shot out for a corner kick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ouachita Baptist would then go on a fastbreak off of the corner kick. Hector\nDuron would end the play with a goal, creating a 1-0 lead in favor of Ouachita.\n

\nAlthough Ouachita Baptist had snagged the first goal of the match. Fort Hays\nwould continue their relentless performance in the attacking third of the\nfield, registering nine shots in the opening 40 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just four minutes later, forward Antonio\nDe La Torre<\/a> would be substituted into the game and make an\nimmediate impact. The junior fired a shot at the top right corner of the goal\nfor his first goal of the season to level the scoreboard going into halftime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De La Torre’s goal marked the fourth shot on target in the match for the\nblack and gold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agudelo swiftly opened up the scoring in second half, only requiring 39\nseconds to snag his fourth goal of the season and give FHSU a 2-1 lead. The\nsenior beat Day to the middle of the goal on an assist from Arsenio\nChamorro<\/a>, whom had been substituted into the game coming out\nof the break. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 80th minute, Ouachita Baptist substituted Abraham Lazo into the match\nand only five minutes later, he would notch a goal of his own. Following a\nyellow card handed to Moises\nPeralta<\/a>, Lazo snuck a shot past senior Cullen\nFisch<\/a> to put the game back to even scoring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The draw would last to the full-time whistle and through the overtime period\nending in a 2-2 finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fort Hays successfully put on a powerful offensive display registering more\nthan tripling Ouachita in the amount of total shots taken (20-6). 14 of those\nshots for FHSU came within the first 54 minutes, where they hit the target six\ntimes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day handled the persistence of the Tigers attack, making six saves\nthroughout the match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the tie, Fort Hays moves to 3-3-1 on the season and are now 2-0-1 in\nconference play, while Ouachita Baptist holds a record of 1-4-2 overall. \n\nFHSU will play Harding University in Searcy,\nArk. on Saturday.
