{"id":45702,"date":"2019-05-15T08:00:42","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T13:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=45702"},"modified":"2019-05-15T08:00:43","modified_gmt":"2019-05-15T13:00:43","slug":"fhsu-csd-nsslha-chapter-earns-gold-chapter-honors-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=45702","title":{"rendered":"FHSU CSD NSSLHA chapter earns Gold Chapter Honors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By UNIVERSITY RELATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association chapter in Fort Hays State University\u2019s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders earned Gold Chapter Honors, the only Kansas university to achieve this award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chapter\nearned this recognition by maintaining at least 30 percent of its membership\nwithin the chapter; participating in two or more community outreach activities;\nparticipating in two or more legislative advocacy activities; and fundraising\n$200 or more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some notable\nactivities included sponsoring the Ellis County Spelling Bee, sponsoring the\nannual Run\/Walk to Help Children Talk, organizing a book drive and donating\n$500 to the Hays Accessible Recreation Complex. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Established in\n1972, NSSLHA is the only national student organization for pre-professionals\nstudying communication sciences and disorders recognized by the American\nSpeech-Language-Hearing Association.
