Tourism and Hospitality Management students at Fort Hays State University were recently inducted into the Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The society\nrecognizes outstanding tourism and hospitality management students and is\nsponsored by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional\nEducation. Education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\nprofessional benefits of ESD include opportunities for outstanding students to\ndistinguish themselves in the eyes of educators, recruiters and industry\nexecutives in an increasingly competitive industry,\u201d said Dr. Stacey Smith,\nchair of the Department of Applied Business Studies and assistant professor of\ntourism and hospitality management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEducational\nbenefits include opportunities for ESD chapters to provide a stimulus for\nstudents to strive for academic excellence,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are over\n90 active Eta Sigma Delta chapters throughout the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe growth is\na testament to the dedication of both students and professionals in hospitality\nand tourism to the pursuit of academic, professional and personal excellence,\u201d\nsaid Smith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students\nwho were inducted are listed alphabetically by hometowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
