KEARNEY & LINCOLN, Neb. – In another weekend of competition, the Fort Hays State men’s track and field program split up in Nebraska, with some heading to Kearney and the others traveling to Lincoln. The highlight of the weekend was yet another provisional from Brett Meyer<\/a> who also earned new personal record.<\/p>\n Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational<\/u><\/strong> Among the other performances in Lincoln was an 11th<\/sup> place mark in the 3,000-meters for Seppe van ‘t Westende<\/a>. The senior clocked a time of 8:30.16. D’Corian Williams finished in 22nd<\/sup> place in the 800-meters with his time of 1:55.88.<\/p>\n Malcom Gardner<\/a> claimed two top-30 finishes at the meet. In the 400-meters, Gardner claimed 27th<\/sup> place with a time of 50.44. In the 200-meters, Gardner finished with a 29th<\/sup> place mark following a time of 22.36.<\/p>\n UNK Invitational<\/u><\/strong> Heading towards running events, Peter Franklin<\/a> finished in third place in the mile with a time of 4:38.11. Brayden Soza<\/a> captured the 60-meters with a time of 7.16. \nMeyer claimed sixth place in the mile with his time of 4:04.23, a time that improved his provisional mark. This time was also a new personal record for the senior. Meyer now sits third on the national performance list for NCAA Division II.<\/p>\n
\nMatthew Pieper<\/a> got the Tigers rolling in Kearney after winning the heptathlon with 4,680 points. Lucas Broxterman<\/a> also added a first place title for FHSU as he won the long jump with his distance of 22 feet, 5 inches. In the high jump, Kolt Newell<\/a> took second place with his height of 6 feet, 8 inches, followed by Broxterman in third at 6 feet, 6 inches. In the pole vault, two Tigers finished in the top five. Ryan Stanley<\/a> finished in second with a height of 15 feet, 6 inches with Mark Faber<\/a> coming in fifth place at 14 feet, 6 inches.<\/p>\n
