KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State received the No. 4 seed in the 2018 MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament on Sunday (Oct. 28). FHSU will host an opening-round tournament game on Wednesday (Oct. 31) against No. 5 seed Missouri Western at 6 pm inside FHSU Soccer Stadium.<\/p>\n
Central Oklahoma earned the No. 1 seed as MIAA Regular Season Champions and hosts No. 8 seed Washburn. Central Missouri (No. 2 seed) plays host to Lindenwood (No. 7 seed). Emporia State, which held the tiebreaker over FHSU for the No. 3 seed, plays host to No. 6 seed Northeastern State. FHSU and Emporia State tied for third in the regular season standings, but Emporia State’s win over FHSU in conference play broke the tie for seeding.<\/p>\n
The Tigers finished the regular season at 10-6-2 overall and 8-3 in the MIAA. Fort Hays State enters the tournament winners of five straight matches, while Missouri Western went 2-2 in its last four contests and finished 12-6 overall, 7-4 in MIAA play.<\/p>\n
Following opening round games hosted by the top four seeds in the tournament, the remainder of the tournament will take place at the highest remaining seed’s home field.
