KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State had 97 first-year student-athletes listed on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the 2016-17 year, released Friday (May 26) by the league office. Individuals with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 through two or more semesters are eligible for the accolade.<\/p>\n
Natalie Lubbers was the lone newcomer to earn the Scholar-Athlete Award, given to individuals who maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher and earn All-MIAA honors. Lubbers was named honorable mention All-MIAA at the No. 2 singles position in tennis while carrying a 3.69 GPA as a Nursing major.<\/p>\n
