LAWRENCE, Kan. – Fort Hays State Men’s Track and Field had two athletes hit provisional marks at the 2016 Kansas Relays. Brenner Wells upped his provisional mark in the javelin while TJ Dozier gained a provisional mark in the discus.<\/p>\n
Wells had a season-best throw of 199 feet, 4 inches in the javelin to finish fourth in the event. He moved up to 24th on the national performance list with the throw. Dozier threw a season-best 164 feet in the discus to finish ninth. He now ranks 25th on the national performance list.<\/p>\n
Several other FHSU men put up season-best efforts in respective events. Brett Meyer won the unseeded 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.28, topping a field of 32 runners. Israel Barco finished 10th in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:59.53. Isaac Williams ran a time of 15:18.26 in the 5000 meters. The distance medley relay and 4×800 meter teams each finished third in their races. The distance medley team of Barco, Doryan Germany-Garner, Thomas Broxterman, and Williams ran a time of 10:17.02. The 4×800 team of Michael Kinuthia, Nikolous Rempe, Barco, and Meyer ran a time of 7:37.63.<\/p>\n
Kyle Comstock also put up a season-best effort in prelim action. He ran 15.30 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.<\/p>\n
Tabor College Invitational<\/strong><\/p>\n At the Tabor College Invitational on Saturday, pole vaulter Sam Dreiling cleared 16 feet to gain a provisional mark in the event. He finished second in the event but posted the best height this outdoor season by a Tiger in the event.
