The Spring Career-Internship Fair takes place this Thursday, February 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Gross Memorial Coliseum, and will be bringing over 75 different businesses and organizations looking to provide college students with internship and employment opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

This event is aimed towards freshman through senior students and has something to offer everyone. Underclassmen are encouraged to come and ask questions to employers, and learn more about different organizations and what they look for in an employee. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to sign up for internships, as well as, meet employers looking to hire full-time employees after graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Austin Foster, a junior management major, is attending this event for his second time and is hoping to use the fair as a way to expand his career search. \u201cI would like to hopefully gain some potential opportunities that will allow me to use the skills I have been acquiring in the classroom in the real world.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Senior criminal justice studies major, Mackenzie Orchard, is using the fair as a way to learn about opportunities for internships and employment that would be available this summer after she graduates with her bachelor’s degree. \u201cI hope to make some connections, network with employers and people in my field, and get professional advice from them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Foster and Orchard, have been to multiple career fairs put on by the university and have found them to be very beneficial. Orchard enjoys that they give her a chance to seek advice from people she wouldn\u2019t come into contact with on a regular basis, where Foster thinks these career fairs reflect well on the university. \u201cI think it shows that the school cares for its students and that it is willing to help them find jobs and internships after graduating.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spring Career-Internship Fair offers students many opportunities to meet with future employers and put what they have learned in the classroom to use in the job market.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
