HAYS, Kan. \u2013 Fort Hays State pulled out another nail-biter for the second straight day, this time a two-point win over Sioux Falls on Sunday (Nov. 15) at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Tied 60-60, Kenny Enoch delivered a game-winning jumper with just one second remaining to lift FHSU to a 62-60 win.<\/p>\n
The Tigers survived a tight battle, a game that saw 12 lead changes and nine ties. After FHSU jumped out to a six-point lead early in the second quarter, neither team would lead by more than four points the rest of the way.<\/p>\n
Hadley Gillum gave the Tigers a lift late in the game, hitting a shot with 1:33 remaining to put FHSU up by one. He also blocked a potential layup by the Cougars on the next possession. USF would eventually tie the game by hitting one of two free-throws with 27 seconds remaining.<\/p>\n
That set up the last second heroics by Enoch. Craig Nicholson tried to find a lane to the basket but was cut off and had to dish to Enoch on the wing. Enoch took a couple dribbles to his left and pulled up for the game-winner just inside the arc. The officials put 0.9 seconds left on the clock, but a USF baseball pass to the other end was batted away by the Tigers.<\/p>\n
Fort Hays State won each of its games on the weekend by a combined three points. FHSU pulled out a 76-75 win over Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Rob Davis led the Tigers in scoring with 13 points, hitting three 3-point field goals. Dom Samac had 12 points and Craig Nicholson added 10. Hadley Gillum led the Tigers in rebounds with seven.<\/p>\n
Mack Johnson led the Cougars in scoring with 16 points while Jordan Stotts had 12 and Daniel Hurtt had 10. Kebu Johnson led USF in rebounding with nine.<\/p>\n
