The Fort Hays State women’s golf team was picked eighth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, released on Wednesday (Aug. 26).<\/p>\n
The Tigers are looking to improve this season after finishing eighth at the MIAA Championships last season. The 2015-16 Tigers have two returning golfers (Quillen Eichhorn and Hadley Tharp) from last year and picked up six newcomers to hit the links this season.<\/p>\n
Head coach Rich Guffey expects there to be a lot of competition for who earns the right to play in tournaments on a week-to-week basis with all the new faces on the squad.<\/p>\n
The Tigers open their 2015-16 season on September 8-9 at the Central Region Preview in Olathe, Kan., hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State.<\/p>\n
