{"id":19106,"date":"2015-03-23T18:00:27","date_gmt":"2015-03-23T23:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=19106"},"modified":"2017-08-14T10:44:39","modified_gmt":"2017-08-14T15:44:39","slug":"howell-reelected-to-beef-promotion-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=19106","title":{"rendered":"Howell reelected to beef promotion committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_19111\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19111\" style=\"width: 100px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tigermedianet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/howell.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-19111\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tigermedianet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/howell-100x150.jpg?resize=100%2C150\" alt=\"Brittany Howell\" width=\"100\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-19111\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brittany Howell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Brittany Howell, associate professor of agriculture at Fort Hays State University, has recently been elected for a second year to the national Beef Promotion Operating Committee, representing the Cattlemen\u2019s Beef Board along with seven other Beef Board members and three Beef Board Officers. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Howell is one of 20 people from across the nation who make up the Operating Committee. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">The Beef Promotion Operating Committee is responsible for developing the annual budget and for developing plans and programs in the areas of promotion, research, consumer information, industry information, foreign marketing and producer communications. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">The committee includes 10 producers elected by the Cattlemen&#8217;s Beef Board and 10 producers elected by the Federation of State Beef Councils. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Howell was re-appointed to her second three-year term on the CBB in 2014 by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack from nominations submitted by certified nominating organizations that represent beef and dairy producers in each state or region. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">She is involved in the cattle industry through her teaching of beef and dairy courses and through her husband, Danny\u2019s, lifetime involvement in the feedyard industry.
