Fort Hays State University men’s track and field posted three provisional qualifying marks on Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0as distance runners competed at the University of Nebraska and the rest of the squad competed at Kansas State.At the Nebraska Tune-Up, the Tigers gained two provisional marks. Michael Kinuthia ran 1:52.77 in the 800 meters to gain a provisional qualifying mark, which ranks 29th<\/sup> nationally. He finished second in the race by just 0.14 seconds. He then joined\u00a0Dillando Allotey<\/a><\/dfn>, Paul Cuellar<\/a><\/dfn>, and Cory Keehn<\/a><\/dfn> for the distance medley and the team set a provisional time of 10:06.93 to rank 26th<\/sup> nationally. The team finished second in the race by just 0.35 seconds. Keehn now has four provisional marks this season, three in individual events and one as a member of a team.At the Kansas State Open, Jake Morrow<\/a><\/dfn> had a provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault with a height of 15’7″. The height ranks 26th<\/sup> nationally. The Tigers were just shy of three more provisional marks. Rodrigo Alves<\/a><\/dfn> finished second in the 60 meters in 6.95 seconds, just .06 seconds shy of the provisional mark he already set this season. Jordan Carroll<\/a><\/dfn> was a little shy of a provisional mark in the triple jump with a distance of 46’0.75″ to finish second in the event. Nate Simpson<\/a><\/dfn> was about four-tenths of a second shy of a provisional in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.65 seconds, finishing third in the event.<\/p>\n
