This morning the Associated Press reported the “Student Rights Committee” at the University of Kansas approved a resolution encouraging the Kansas Board of Regents to better police student’s sexual misconduct. The proposed system would compel\u00a0a\u00a0student expelled for sexual misconduct at a state school to seek approval before enrollment was allowed at another institution in the state.<\/p>\n

The Lawrence Journal-World reported<\/a> late Wednesday\u00a0the group is working towards creating a universal system where \u00a0“nonacademic misconduct should be added to the transcripts of expelled or suspended students” as well as ensuring that prior to further enrollment students would need approval in writing from the chief of student affairs at both schools.<\/p>\n

The AP also notes that currently students expelled on grounds of nonacademic misconduct do not carry the specific charge on their transcript.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
