With post-season games around the corner, the Fort Hays State University men\u2019s soccer team capped off their home games for the season with two impressive wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist. The Tigers beat Harding 4-0 on Thursday and proceeded to beat Ouachita Baptists 8-0 on Saturday night, equaling the school’s second-biggest win in program history. With Southern Nazarene losing points at home against Northeastern State in a 2-2 draw, the Tigers have temporarily moved to the top of the GAC conference table, as Rogers State is missing one game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FHSU Head Coach Alex Nichols was content with the team\u2019s performance but tried to put the focus on some things that the team could improve for the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe played well, and I\u2019m proud of the guys,\u201d he said. \u201cBut still, we have some things that we need to sharpen. A lot of our mistakes are self-inflected, and we need to find a way to cut down those errors. Even today (Saturday), we had some stuff that we need to improve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a scoreless first half against Harding, the Tigers had four different goal scorers on Thursday, as Jeremiah Johnson, Bastian Carlman, Felix Tellez Ramirez, and Oliver Wright were part of the goal fest, which was only a preparation for Saturday\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
